With 15+ years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge in architectural design, space planning, construction documentation, windstorm and envelope requirements, codes, and regulations. Her focus on client needs and strong commitment to project follow-through ensure the highest standards in project drawings, design, and delivery. She is dedicated in providing the highest standards in project drawings, design, and delivery for Clients to have the best experience through this complex process of designing and constructing their project. I'm Kira Bonesteel, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, founder and principal of Bonesteel Architects. I started the firm in 2025 so clients get what larger firms often can't promise: the architect who wins your project is the one who designs it, draws it, answers your calls, and walks the site during construction.
I've practiced for more than 16 years, the last ten in Corpus Christi, on schools, higher education, municipal, healthcare, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and residential projects. That range shows up in the details. I know how an ISD project moves through a board, how to walk through a project with a Client that doesn't know about design and construction, what a plan reviewer will flag, and where budgets usually slip.
My path into architecture started in a high school career and technical drafting program in Watkinsville, Georgia. I went on to Kennesaw State University, graduating magna cum laude, and practiced in San Antonio before making the Coastal Bend home. Designing and problem solving for clients is what we do that makes the biggest impact on any project.
